I recently found their website and I was so excited about it. You see, I have kids that tend to be on the lazy side....but don't tell anyone. Well, maybe they aren't lazy, they just aren't motivated to help around the house. Hmmm....I guess that would qualify as lazy.
We have tried so many things to try to motivate them to chip in more with household duties: chore charts, to-do lists, sticker rewards, begging, punishing, allowance, whining, bribery, etc. There were a few things that actually worked for a few days, but nothing that truly motivated after the "newness" wore off.
Until now.
Enter myjobchart.com. It's a user-friendly website that is an online chore chart for your child. You log in and set up chores for each of your children. Then your kids log in, look at their list of chores, and check them off as they finish them. There is a simple reward system where you can assign reward points for specific chores. Then your kids can save up their points and turn them in for special rewards that you have set up in their "store".
Our children LOVE this. We have been using it for a couple of months now and they are still doing chores and earning points almost every day. I think the fact that it's all online and they have their own password and "store" makes it quite appealing for them.
Now, this might not work for everyone but it has worked great for our family. And best of all........its FREE.
And nothing beats walking into the kitchen to unload the dishwasher, only to find that my kids have already done it for me.....and I didn't even have to ask. Ahhh.
