Do You Hulu?

Several months ago, we took the plunge and got rid of cable.  Some people thought we were totally nuts when we did that and others congratulated us.  One of the main reasons we did it was to save some moola.

We had been toying around with the idea of unplugging the cable when we realized that all the tv shows that we watched could be viewed for free on hulu.com.  So, between that and borrowing movies from the local library, we are set - and saving a bit of money in the process.

How about you?  Could you ever get rid of cable?

  1. My boyfriend and I don't use cable. His mother was nice enough to let us use her Netflix subscription since she is too busy to use it. We watch almost EVERYTHING with Instant Watch and get movies a couple times a week. But for some shows that we just can't miss--like House and Fringe--we use Hulu!

  2. I don't think I could live without HGTV and and Disney channel. I have some friends though that swear by Hulu. I don't have speakers on my computer or I'd give it a try!

  3. We got rid of cable back in September and have been using an antenna that we purchased for $40 at Wal Mart. We get the local channels and we use Hulu all the time. The only thing I miss is HGTV which I can get on Hulu and my college's football games. We figured though, we were saving about $80 a month!

  6. We don't have a TV to begin with, so yes, we can get rid of cable- we live fine without any form of TV. Hulu doesn't work outside of the US; occasionally we'll watch stuff on youtube or through ovguide.com, but the rest of the time, we're TV and movie free. Life is better this way.

  8. Hulu is just the beginning of free tv. TV land has free episodes of shows. Also try Crackle, WB, TBS, and all the major networks have their last weeks shows CBS is a little iffy on some shows. PBS has lots of whole episodes. I even watch A And E shows the day after they are on cable. Hope this helps!
