There is very little need to wash your clothes in anything but cold water. I actually thought that most people used cold until someone told me they use warm and hot almost all of the time. With the exception of cloth diapers, I use cold water for every load of laundry. Everything comes out clean and I don't need special detergent, either. I just use my homemade laundry detergent. So, cut down on those monthly utility bills by washing with cold water whenever you can!
I wash everything in cold water, and thought most others did too, until I asked my sister. It's a little bit to do my part. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree! Chris is insistent that his chore clothes be washed in warm though.
ReplyDeleteWe use cold water, but I will often times use hot water for our towels and the boys underwear (due to accidents he has). I use it on our towels, because if I don't, they tend to smell from sitting and being wet. Plus I'm bad at laundry. I think if you put the towels in right after using them, this wouldn't be a problem, but in my house--things don't get done ASAP so they tend to smell worse if I don't use hot water. Just my two cents.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes wash clothes in hot water. I do wash more in cold water. Thanks for the tip about saving on your utility bills. HAVE A FAB DAY!!!

Love your blog! Following from FF too! I wash almost everything in cold, except Baby's clothes. She's a spitter, so I want to make sure we get everything she wears sanitized!
ReplyDeleteUh oh, I gotta come back. That was a great tip if it works...I'll have to try it first - but boy oh! boy if it'll work it will save a lot on my energy bills. Thanks!
