Homemade Hot Chocolate
2 Cups Powdered Milk
1 Cup Nestle Nesquik powder
2/3 Cups Powdered Sugar
1/2 Cup powdered coffee creamer
3/4 Tablespoon of Hershey's baking cocoa
Mix all of these dry ingredients together. Store in an airtight container. This is the cocoa mix.
When you are ready to drink some, fill a coffee cup 1/4 to 1/2 full with the mix and add hot water.
Add your favorite hot chocolate additions: marshmallows, whipped cream, Bailey's, butterscotch flavor, peppermint, etc.
Sounds yummy. Stopping by for Friday Follow. Have a fantastic weekend!

Not entirely unrelated, but do you know of any healthy(no HFCS, artificial sweetners, chemicals)ways to make chocolate milk? Ian loves chocolate milk, but I won't buy the syrup for him because it's full of nastiness.
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering about the same thing, Courtney. I'll have to experiment. I was thinking of doing something similar to this hot cocoa recipe and just putting it in cold milk. You can take sucanat and grind it in a coffee grinder to replace the powdered sugar (you could do that for frosting recipes, too). Hmmm....maybe use carob powder instead of Hershey's, etc. Let me know if you come up with anything!
