As I mentioned in a previous post, I am starting a short series on how to save money when you have a wee one in diapers. I've interviewed several mamas who all have lots of experience in the baby department. Some of them used disposable diapers, some used cloth, and some used both.
Today, we'll be talking with Julie.
Julie is the mother of 6 wonderful boys and has used both disposables and cloth diapers. For cloth, she used Mother-ease diapers. Julie liked Mother-ease diapers because, "there was no thick middle that never (in my mind) got either clean or dry. There was no stuffing to put back in. And they worked for little bitties all the way up to potty training."
As far as disposables go, she has tried lots of different brands: Huggies, Pampers, Luvs, Parents Choice, and Dillon's Store Brand. Her favorite was Huggies because they fit her babies so well and didn't leak. She has been able to save money on Huggies diapers by purchasing them with sale/coupon combinations....sometimes even snagging free diapers by using this method! Coupons for Huggies can be found at the company's website, at many online coupon dealers, in newspaper inserts, etc.
Thanks, Julie, for answering all my questions about your money-saving adventures in the diaper department!
How about you? Have you ever used Mother-ease cloth diapers or used combined sales and coupons to get disposables dirt cheap?
