After using a bath towel, hang it up to dry and re-use it the next time you shower/bathe.
This is one of those simple, money-saving tips that I thought everyone did - until I started talking to people about it. I have friends who never thought to do something like this, so I thought I should share it here. This tip is especially helpful if you have children. If we didn't re-use our towels once or twice, I would be doing laundry all the time.
Wow, we reuse our towels a lot more than once or twice. Hm. I thought EVERYONE did. Now I feel scruffy ;)
ReplyDeleteWe reuse our towels a lot too here. I have enough laundry. I just wish my kids didn't throw their clean clothes in the dirty pile. Sometimes I'll go through the kids clothes and even see if its dirty and then make them re-fold it.
ReplyDeleteDebbie - I know, right?! I even had a friend who was appalled that I didn't wash my towels after every use. I just never thought it was gross....I mean, you are clean when you use it. :P
ReplyDeleteMichelle - my mom STILL complains about how I used to throw my clean clothes into the dirty pile. Must be a kid thing.....mine do it, too.
ReplyDeleteTanya, this reminds me of a Dilbert comic I read once. Wally (if I remember his name correctly) is the gross, crude office guy. He's explaining to his workmates why he never washes his towels. His reasoning is that when he wipes down, he is the cleanest thing in the house, so the towels only get cleaner every time he uses them.
ReplyDeleteHee hee :)
Not that I'd ever go so far... but it's a funny thought.
Ok.....that truly has me laughing out loud. If I had that comic, I would probably frame it and hang it in the bathroom. TOO funny!
ReplyDeleteWe always re-use our towels...in fact, I have to grab hubby's when I can because he'll re-use it until it stands up and walks away, which is rather ick. But very green and enviro friendly, which is what he says when I tell him his towel is gross!
